Before You Book Your Pasadena Newborn Photography…

So, you’re having a baby soon (or you just had a baby), congratulations! Now it’s time to start thinking about capturing all those precious newborn moments. But before you hire a photographer, there are a few things you should consider. Here are 7 questions to ask before you book your Pasadena Newborn Photography:

#1 – How long have you been photographing newborns?

Newborn photographers specialize in capturing beautiful portraits of babies in the first few weeks of life. Newborn photography is a special kind of portraiture, as it requires both a high level of skill and a great deal of patience. Newborns can be unpredictable, and it often takes several tries to get the perfect shot.

As a result, newborn photographers need to be prepared for anything. They must be able to capture those special moments, whether the baby is sleeping soundly or wide awake and squirming. Newborn photographers must have an eye for detail and be able to work quickly, as the window of opportunity can be very small.

I have been photographing newborns for over 5 years, and it’s a passion of mine. I love being able to capture those early days and preserve them for families to cherish for years to come.

#2 – What do I need to bring to the Pasadena Newborn Photography session?

As a mother, it’s important to be prepared for your newborn photography session. First, you will need to choose a newborn photographer that you feel comfortable with and that you believe will capture the perfect moments of your new baby. It’s also important to discuss what kind of poses you would like and what types of props, if any, you would like to use.

You’ll also want to bring the everyday supplies for your newborn. This includes things like diapers, bottles, wipes, and blankets. By being prepared, you can help ensure that your newborn photography session is a success.

#3 – What’s your approach to safety during the shoot?

Newborn photography can be a beautiful way to capture the precious early days of your child’s life. However, it’s important to take safety into consideration when planning and executing a shoot. I have been certified in newborn safety by the Accredited Professional Newborn Photographers International (APNPI).

As a Newborn Photographer, I always put safety first. I make sure that the parents are comfortable and aware of what’s going on throughout the shoot, and I take care to support the baby’s head and neck at all times. I also use props as needed, and only if they are completely safe and pose no risk of harming the baby.

By taking these precautions and hiring a professional newborn photographer, you can be sure that everyone involved in the shoot feels safe and relaxed, resulting in beautiful, natural photos that capture the joy of this special time.

#4 – How do you deal with baby crying or discomfort during the Pasadena Newborn Photography session?

This is one of the most common questions I get. The answer is actually quite simple: I don’t. Newborns are unpredictable, and that’s okay! In fact, I welcome those cries as they often lead to some of the most genuine and emotive images. My approach is to simply go with the flow and let baby lead the way. If they need a break, we take a break. If they want to be held, we cuddle. And if they want to nurse, we give them the space and time to do so.

Ultimately, my goal is to capture the beauty and innocence of newborns in a way that is both respectful and gentle. And that means being flexible and responsive to their needs.

#5 – What is your policy on rescheduling if baby is sick or not cooperating?

I want make sure that your newborn photo session is as special as possible. If a baby is sick ( or if you are), please let me know and we will reschedule at a later date.

#6 – How long will the Pasadena Newborn Photography session take and how many images will I receive?

The entire newborn photo shoot usually takes anywhere from 2-3 hours, but we like to give ourselves plenty of time in case baby needs a feeding or a break. And of course, we always allow plenty of time for cuddles! You will have your choice of the number of images to choose from. Packages start with the minimum of 20 images.

#7 – Do you offer payment plans or accept credit cards?

Payment can be made by cash, check, Vemo, Zelle, or any credit card. The session fee needs to be paid in advance to secure your spot for your Pasadena Newborn Photography.
